So, the Mets got eliminated in Game 6. I’m grateful to all of you reaching out, checking to make sure I’m ‘okay’ and not too sad about my team. Thank you! And, thank you for all the fabulous baseball conversations this season.
(( yes I know there’s still the World Series … and that’s okay …. but, ya know … ))
I’m so proud of the Mets this year. They have grit and heart. They played with passion and joy. This season was full of surprises, weirdness and fun. They have everything to be proud of … and I’m so grateful for the amazin’ Mets having and amazin’ season.
WHEW WHAT A RIDE !!!!!!
(( now back to our regularly scheduled smut ))
Sorry Ms Olivia I was actually rooting for your mets after they knocked my Phillies out lol xoxos maybe next year !!
Thank you so much viola!
Are you yearning for baseball now?
I am.
BUT, the quiet over the winter means spring time will be all the more exciting.
NOW — let’s see what the offseason, trades and all that will bring!
Your Mets did better than my twins. Ugh sooo close to making playoffs only to have September blow up and meltdown. Totally crushing.
That’s right!
You’re a Twins fan …. the Twins used to have the Rochester Red Wings as their farm team so I have special affinity for the Twins!
lipstick kisses!
Yes Ms Olivia, your Mets really did well and have, no doubt, a legion of brand new fans, impressed with their efforts in climbing back into the playoffs and surprising a lot of folks along the way.
My hope was for a Mets Tigers World Series…wouldn’t that have been fun? Yankees Dodgers? It’s been done too many times.
And I guess…(as you already know) there is only so much magic in my Mets blue panties!??
I LOVED the whole Mets season — it was glorious!
I thought it was a fantastic year for the Mets! It started poorly but they turned it around and were the best in the league at one point. That was totally unexpected for me and like Wow!!! They made a serious run for it and I am also so proud of them!
Plus, it was so much fun watching and following them with YOU! I love how much you love them too! I already can’t wait for spring training!!
Onward to spring training … and here’s to hoping the Mets in 2025 are equally as exciting and fun!
Yes very true Ms Olivia , something about the crack of the bat in Springtime, after the winter, brings back lots of sweet memories of my earlier years, playing baseball in the open fields !! So much fun !! Yes hopefully my phillies make some good offseason trades etc to improve the team, as I am sure You are hoping the mets will do lol !!
Hi viola!
Yesssss ……… springtime and spring training … and the anticipation of the season.
OH MY now I’m yearning for that fresh mowed grass smell and hot dogs and beer!
You’re right — I hope the Mets have a FUN season like last year …. I loved that everyone (players and fans) were having FUN!
Hi Ms Olivia, yes I know that fresh cut grass smell never gets old, stays in our memory banks for years, Fields of Dreams lol xoxo
Oh what a great movie — I often watch baseball movies during the collllllddddddd darkkkkkkkk winterrrrrr months and Field of Dreams is one of my favs.
Oh yes Ms Olivia, Awesome movie, and I loved the Natural also, and the oldie but goodie, Pride of the Yankees !! Lou Gehrig Story !! xo
I don’t think I’ve ever seen Pride of the Yankees!
Thanks for that idea — I’m following all the offseason stuff which, of course, includes all the various rumors of contracts, trades, etc.
Time for movies until the ‘dust’ settles.
Yes for sure, check out pride of the yankees a good older movie, tear jerker but very good !! xo
Nice thank you !!!!
Also, I liked the Babe, with John Goodman, it was good to, and there is an older movie about Babe Ruth, I think was also good lol
I think I’ve seen the Babe … that rings a bell …. some of my favs I watch so often that I know parts of the dialog!
Ahhh Ms Olivia, I see that the baseball movie topic has arisen! Did you ever get around to checking out “It Happens Every Spring” yet? I remember suggesting that one to you way back when. A baseball comedy from 1948.
I haven’t but thank you for reminding me!
